About the role

The QA Test Engineer will be responsible for developing functional and non-functional test cases to validate operation of R3s product suite The successful candidate will have hands on manual and automated test engineering experience, understand the challenges of testing platform technologies, demonstrate critical investigative abilities, and be able to work well at all levels of the software testing lifecycle. They will be able to analyse complex distributed systems and to plan, execute and report on test cycles. They will be experienced using several programming languages and test frameworks, be comfortable with ambiguity and may have worked both in banking and start-up environments. The majority of their experience will be from working in agile environments where software engineers, testers, product managers and DevOps work closely together. Trading/Banking system technology experience is not mandatory but a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Produce detailed test stage plans.
  • Develop functional and non-functional test cases within R3’s regression automation framework for testing (CRAFT) and maintain test suites and test cases.
  • Execute test cases, document results, update progress, and track bugs.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of manual and automated test scenarios working as part of an agile engineering team.
  • Participate in prototyping and experimentation to validate system architecture.
  • Partner with internal and external teams in testing, deploying and operating highly scalable blockchain networks.
  • Undertake system performance analysis from the ground up to determine operational limits of the system.

Skills and experience

  • 4+ years of enterprise test engineering (both manual and automation).
  • Proficiency in Java, Kotlin or another similar programming language.
  • Familiar with basic Dev Ops, Jenkins , Kubernetes , Docker.
  • Familiar with tools for API testing i.e Postman , Rest Assured.
  • Familiar with tools for UI testing , i.e Selenium, Cypress.
  • Familiar with project tracking software such as JIRA and test management systems such as XRAY.
  • Broad understanding of computer science and engineering principles.
  • Proven track record of delivering test automation for highly complex software.
  • Experience planning for and executing end-to-end functional and non-functional.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Comfortable and able to work under pressure.
