The Marketing team is looking for a Market Intelligence Intern. This intern will support our Chief Economist and the Product Marketing Team on data driven projects and assist in generating content about CBDC, digital assets, payments, trade and technical blockchain concepts.
The perfect candidate for this position is both data and research-driven, and is also able to communicate effectively in written content. The Product Marketing Team generates content around CBDC, digital assets, payments, trade and technical blockchain concepts. An uderstanding of these topics and financial markets in general is a huge plus.
The role is fast paced and constantly evolving. Previous market intelligence interns have demonstrated success by using their spare time to compile a self-paced and more open-ended project that they can work on through the remainder of the summer.
Past projects have included: a detailed analysis of the ICO market (2017), framework for designing CorDapps to comply with MiFid II financial regulations (2018), competitive battlecards on R3’s core competitors in the enterprise blockchain space (2019), and a visual framework for conceptualizing the potential attributes of a central bank-issued digital currency (2020).
This year, the market intelligence intern will focus primarily on the rapidly evolving digital assets landscape, researching and creating content that positions R3 as a thought leader in the space.
Responsibilities:
- Ownership of analytical assignments that contribute to R3’s broader research agenda
- Presenting to internal stakeholders on industry developments and R3’s market positioning
- Assist in content development: writing blogs, articles, whitepapers, case studies, and more for a number of strategic campaigns
- Assist with product launches where necessary
- Project management of thought leadership campaigns
- Feedback on thought leadership published by R3
- Industry landscaping
Experience & Education:
- Excellent writing ability and analytical skills (please provide a writing sample)
- Intellectual curiosity and deep interest in financial innovations including blockchain and digital assets
- Eagerness to engage with other employees across the company
- Ability to express complex ideas in digestible frameworks, using tools such as PowerPoint
- Proficiency in Excel and/or data visualization tools
- Nice to have: familiarity extracting and analyzing data from public sources in real time
- The ideal candidate will currently be enrolled in an undergraduate program, either entering their final or penultimate year
Please note the start date for this position is Monday, May 22nd (subject to change) and our internship program lasts for 12 weeks; at present we can only consider applicants that commit to these time frames.

The salary for this position is $3,750 per month (equivalent of $45,000 per annum)
